The 2014 ESB Conference will be held at the Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) Liverpool. Please see the Conference Venue page for further details.
Getting to ACC Liverpool by Taxi
We have negotiated a discounted rate with INTX Liverpool Executive Chauffeur Service, prices from £20 per single journey for a single passenger from Liverpool Airport. You can book and pay in advance for transfers to and from both Liverpool and Manchester Airports by visiting here.
Getting to ACC Liverpool by Air
Liverpool has global transport connections. Liverpool John Lennon airport is only 7 miles from the city centre, with excellent travel links across the region. The airport is strongly served by the low-cost carriers Ryanair, Easyjet, Flybe and Wizzair.
If you are flying to Liverpool Airport, a taxi from the airport to the city centre will take approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, the express bus service Route 500 will take approximately 25 minutes dropping you off within a 5 minute walk of the ACC.
As an alternative to Liverpool Airport, we can also recommend flying to Manchester International Airport which is approximately 35 miles from ACC Liverpool and also has direct rail connections to Liverpool.
A discounted Executive Chauffeur Service from either airport can be arranged through the Conference’s official travel partners INTX Liverpool in advance, and can be booked here.
Booking for the coach transfers from Manchester and Liverpool airports on 30th August and 3rd September to and from the Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre has now CLOSED.
Getting to ACC Liverpool by Train
Virgin Trains operates hourly, direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street (with a journey time of just over two hours). Other long distance rail services also operate into Liverpool Lime Street Station. First TransPennine Express provides direct train services to Liverpool Lime Street from Manchester, Leeds, York and Middlesbrough.
We have negotiated a fare reduction of 20% on all Virgin Trains advance fares in standard and first class from London to Liverpool for delegates of ESB 2014, but these must be booked through the ESB 2014 website.

You will need to use the password: Bio2014
which is case-sensitive.
You cannot have tickets which you purchase on the site delivered outside of the UK, but you can retrieve them from an automated machine from a mainline station. If you are arriving at a London airport, there are no automated machines, but you can order tickets to travel from London Euston, and purchase separate tickets from the airport to Euston when you arrive. You will need to have the same credit card at the automated machine to retrieve the tickets that was used to purchase them.
The ACC is a 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street railway station or a short taxi ride. You can also transfer at Lime Street onto the underground Wirral Line trains to James Street station (10 minute walk) or catch the CityLink Route C4 bus (7am – 8pm) every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays directly to the ACC.
